Champions Of Orange


My champions this year were orange... not so big but orange - 
And big enough to garner some respect even if they actually
looked like pumpkins.  

I still think calling some of those big heavy blobs that look
like cowpies pumpkins is a stretch... but that's what won many
a weigh off this year.

It's hard to argue with a large knarly, multicolored glob that
weighs more than your truck so they take home most the prize
money.  

The masses will revolt some day and say.... wait a minute -
that ain't no stinkin' pumpkin.....

So my Champions sit under a tree in my front yard and are the
wonder of the neighborhood.  Most wonder what the hell they are
doing there, and write me off as an eccentric.  What me worry -
I still find them veiled in a certain magic even if I haven't
figured out quite what to do with them...

One of these days they will probably take over the planet and
we will all become just fertilizer but until then you can catch
