Pumpkin Poetry Contest
Hello, Growers!
November has begun with TWO entries already in the annual pumpkin poetry
contest. The rules are simple:
1. You pay no entry fee.
2. You may enter as many poems as you like, but beware ... you'll be
competing against yourself and giving other poets an advantage. Better to
send your best.
3. You may write as long or short a poem as you wish. If it's VERY LONG, it
had better be VERY GOOD or the judges might get bored with it.
4. You may rhyme or not.
5. Your poem may 'borrow' from the work of others. But - beware! - if they
read too many poems beginning with 'Twas the night before weighoff ...,' the
judges will expect the winner to jump directly into verse that sets it
head-and-shoulders above the rest.
6. The judges' decision will be final. Please be kind in your comments about
them; they are purely volunteers, as I am.
7. Deadline: November 30, 2006.
8. You may send your poems privately to me at <fishrap@earthlink.net> or to
the list at <pumpkins@hort.net>.
Ladies and Gentlemen, start your poetry engines ...
