Hey Steve, thanks.  Very interesting since I have rototilled it about 8 times 
already.  It looks good now, but the ground was so dry that I had to keep going 
over it.  I have tilled down through the topsoil, but the tiller isn't able to 
get into the clay for some reason.  The tiller is put away now that we are in 
the low 30's and below.  I did manage to get a soil sample out, but won't be 
able to add any amendments until spring. I did cut up my pumpkin and spread it 
over the area, but again I wasn't able to till it in.  Do you think throwing 
some straw over the patch will do anything good?  We went from no rain to cold 
to 2" rain back to freezing.  I guess I dropped the ball on it.

When I cut up the pumpkin with a chain saw, it was a blast even though I have 
gone through 2 saws so far.  Thank goodness one was free.  I was suprised that 
there weren't more seeds when I cut him up.

Steve, send me your email and I will send you a fun picture with the pumpkin.  
The mid sized pumpkin in now floating in a lake where my bro-in-law fishes.  It 
cracked when we pushed it in so I am not sure how ling it will float.  Gotta be 
good fish food, eh?  I'm hoping to go out there later today to check on it.
