Weekend

HOORAY - it's here - the weekend. AND. What is more, the academic year
is over, the last exam went out the window last Monday. There is now
even more time to devote to beating the Australians. My humble efforts
have grown so much they have knocked over the step ladder that I was
going to use to get to pollinating the flower.

After a brilliant week in Rotorua hubbling and bubbling in the thermal
mud and springs I am rather refreshed and extraordinarily efferescent
(must have been too much bubbling and not enough hubbling!

Seriously - my two seedlings now have three true leaves each and have
outgrown the window frames I had over them. They are now surrounded in
old windows and glass doors to create a good microclimate.

Your seeds Tim are not up yet but the weather has been a bit cool (but
don't tell the Aussies).

I visited Peter who is growing his pumpkin hydroponically. It is going
great guns and the hydroponic people say that there are lots of people
around NZ using this method. I will have to give a call on national
talkback and see if I can 'flush' them out.

Have a good weekend all and happy growing to my Australian friends. You
will note there no contumely or derision in this remark. I am saving ths
for the weekend.

John.

Have a 'Parky' day!
