A few weeks ago you asked about the Ottawa-St.Lawrence Growers 1997 Ottawa
weighoff and the Japanese prizes and trip.
All went exactly as planned.
On 29 September the $16,000 US purchase (prize?) money was placed in the
bank account of the Ottawa-St.Lawrence Growers. On 9 October the 4
pumpkins were airborne for Japan. On 10 October the 4 growers were paid.
On 1 November Ken Armstrong, Harold & Ann Baird, and Gus Saunders departed
for Japan. They returned on 10 November.
They were treated like kings. Meijiya Sangyo Ltd., their hosts, made their
visit memorable. A thrill of a lifetime.
More on this Meijiya Sangyo Ltd - Ottawa-St.Lawrence Growers venture will
be written in our upcoming newspapers.
Gus is now home and settled down and working on the Ottawa-St.Lawrence
Growers seed distribution plan and their post weighoff newspaper.
All the best!
