Thank you for sharing your concerns on how the mailing list should be
conducted. The standard configuration of a mailing list is to have a
automatic reply to the questions which are addressed to the mailing
list. The past mailing list was designed to go back only the author
and not the mailing list. Many other subscribers would like to
understand what the answer is to the question.....I am sorry you do not
like this, but being a mail listowner of three other mailing list, it is
my job to prevent gross amount of private mail from being posted to the
group. Some people learn the hard way to when they notice they made a
mistake in posting to the group versus to the author of the posting.
This is all part of the learning process of a mailing list.
