Now let me see if i have this right any message to the group will then
have its replies be automatically printed back to the group, But if it
is
directed privately to them they still will be private........I can live
with this if you tell me this makes it a heck of alot easier to run the
list. Since this is a thankless job I'll give it a go..........Brock

Question 1.
If you want your reply for all the mailing list to read, then press the
reply button. If you want to send a message to a private party, then the
address needs to be typed in, unless you have an alias file(address
book). (It would be nice to see the response to a pumpkin related
question)
Question 2.
Yes it will still be private if you send the message to that personal
address. This is how email works. An email address is like a mail box.
The pumpkin mailing list mail box has 200 plus members on one email
address but a single mail box has a personally assigned address.
Ask yourself this...Why did you join a mailing list? Did you join to see
the answers to the some of your common questions and review the replies
of others? Did you learn your new skills by a response from a reply
which was directed to the mailing list?
In the pumpkin@athenet.net this is what happens
Did you wonder if that one question was ever answered by John/Jill Doe
or should I send him/her another post? Did you ever wonder if that
persons pumpkin question was answered, and you find out it was but it
was only provided to the author asking the pumpkin question?
I created a FAQ page and the responses I have on this page were provide
privately without going back to the mailing list. This is excellent
information which a new grower would like to know.
A mailing list is a supporting unit of people. I have been on the
pumpkin mail list since the beginning and step in to support your
concerns about the list. I know I have been called names and many other
things but I am trying to support the list in a normal operational
format.
If you don't like the format of the mailing list please send me a
private note. Please think how other mailing list are configured to
support the scope of the mailing list. Now my volume of mail has
increased. I get an extra 30 messages aday dealing with subs and unsubs
and bounces. And these need to be resolved. People complained about the
archives when they first were created and now it has a positive review
due to the understanding of what it provides.

I am not going to change the fun of this mailing list.
We have over 250 on the mailing list and 9 on digest.
We have 90 people post this month which is 35% of the group which is
amazing
for a mailing list.
I have receive 1% negative response to the format to the mailing list
format.
What do you recommend should be the proper percentage to switch back to
the old mailing list? Press the link and tell me or make your comments
known.
