Sounds like it could be transplant shock. How long ago was it
transplanted? What kind of container was it in? Did it wilt any when first
transplanted? Pumpkin roots are sensitive to transplanting. I think many of
them die from the transplanting causing some wilt and some die back of
leaves. Usually they bounce back after they grow new roots. If your plant
is not wilted now or doesn't wilt when in the sun it may be on its way to
recovery.
