oh no! It sounds like the dreaded disease jealousasus maximas. An
extremely rare and always fatal disease that is highly contagious. As
soon as it appears on one plant, it is likely to infect all other
pumpkin plants in the vicinity. There is only one remedy that I know of
and it involves uprooting all pumpkin plants within a 5 kilometre radius
and burning them in an industrial incinerator. As a further precaution,
it is advised that no pumpkins (especially giant ones which seem to be
the most susceptible) are grown for at least 2 years.
