Will cross pollination produce a bigger pumpkin and if so, why?

I'm not Bob, but hope you don't mind me taking a stab at this. The effects of
cross pollination will not be seen in that years pumpkin. They will be seen
in the seeds of that pumpkin. Genetics play a big role in pumpkin
size, shape, color, texture. That's why many search out PROVEN seeds. So cross
pollinating my produce seeds with good genetics or it may not.
