Sorry to hear of your loss. When my Dad (who taught me just about everything I
know about growing things, including children) passed suddenly 4 years ago, I
told my best friend that I did not know how I could handle it. I had no idea
that a human being could feel so sad. My friend (who had lost his mother
suddenly also) said something that helped me greatly. What he said is that the
pain I felt would never really go away, but in time would turn to warm
memories that would keep me in touch with him forever. At the time, I did not
understand, but I do now.  When I am alone in my garden I swear that (and I
don't know how) I hear him say "Stephen...". It's not all that I want, but it
is often what I need. My family and I will remember you when we speak to the
Man upstairs. Hang in there.
