Hello Allen,
Hope everything is going well with you and family! Wondering if you
ever received my seed package & article? Question? I cleaned my seeds,
dried until film fell off. Took about 3 weeks. They look very healthy,
nice tan color and firm. Have them in plastic bags, separated according
to size and seed firmness. Is it OK to leave in cool dark place in zip
bags? Other people talk about ventilation? If zip locked, then there is
no ventilation. Please explain! I think I'm going to plant a few seeds
in the house this week to see if they will grow before I give them away.
Also, I think I have room for 3 mounds this year. 1st mound will be one
of my seeds, 2 nd & 3rd mounds will be from yours. I will cross
pollinate my plant with one of yours. Will that plant be known as
"Reynolds/Palumbo? What will the other 2 plants be called? How would I
pollinate your plants? Cross pollinate each other? I also received my
soil test from New Haven! Very interesting! My PH is 6.0. Tomorrow I
will add Limestone to soil. When certain items are tested ex. Potassium
& Phosphorus are very high, when do I try and lower it? Now or
springtime? Nitrogen is 'Low". Organic matter is med. high. Ammonium
nitrogen is "low". Calcium is "high". Magnesium is "med. high".
Calcium is "high". Dam Allen, my local community college should have
courses on "Giant Pumpkins"! Well, thank you so much for your
professional advice! I also enjoy every reading the lists everyday!
Always look for you first! Thanks again, your pumpkin prodasae.
