Hi Team
Nothing in particular to report. Good fine and sunny weather. Four sets
of true leaves on all pumpkins. It will soon be time for culling, that
will be a wrench as I will be taking out a Smith 530 and an Andersen. I
may have a good think about this.
We have now recalled all seed packets as they have stopped going out. We
have three more centres to come in and we are up to 202 registered
growers so far - we may make about the 270 mark. We now hope to get 130
pumpkins at the Weigh-Off in April.
We are giving away worm farms (the domestic sort) as prizes, we have
ordered six, one for each category and we will have a grand prize for
the overall heaviest. Last year we sent the winner and his Wife to the
Mountain Lodge for dinner accommodation and breakfast. I expect it will
be something similar again.
At the next post I will be able to give out an idea of whose seeds went
where so you will have an idea. I may be able to do a random phone
survey as well.
I am delighted to say that I will be going on six weeks annual leave
from December 7th. I do not have a computer at home so after 7th that
will be it for a while - if you do hear from me it will be because I
have been called back for something. If that is the case then I will
give you all a call while I am here.
