Howard Dill has a patent on the Atlantic Giant Pumpkin trade name and no
one can sell seeds under that name...I believe one can sell seeds from
his or her pumpkin as long as you do not identify them as "Atlantic
Giant" Pumpkin seeds.
However, most of the big pumpkin seeds are traded or sold by growers
associations at seed seminars....At the Prince Edward County Pumpkinfest
Seed Seminar last spring we auctioned off several seeds that were
donated by Chris Anderson ($15.00 for a 977) and Bill Greer ($10.00 for
a 1006). All of our other seeds, which are donated by various growers
are sold in packages of 2 for either $1.00 or $2.00.
The fun in this hobby is in the growing and the little successes and
large failures that we all have.
The comraderie among growers as shown on this list is also part of the
fun.
