Leaves

Hi everyone,
I received my soil test results today. I didn't understand everything on the
test so I went to the local co-op to ask questions. During our conversation,
he asked my what I all added to my garden this fall. I told him that I added
manure and lots of leaves. He frowned on the fact that I added leaves to the
garden because of the bacteria that breaks down leaves. He stated that the
bacteria uses a lot of nitrogen to break down the leaves and suggested that I
double my suggested amount of nitrogen to be added to the garden. Has anyone
else heard of this before? Before I add the amount that he suggested, I
wanted to hear what everyone else had to say. Any advice or comments would
greatly be appreciated!!!!!!
