Tadpoles or good seeds?

The seeds I removed the day after Halloween from a small PW Hybrid had what
looked like tails. Some had obiously started to sprout in the pumpkin after
it sat for days on the porch exposed to the warmth of the suns rays.
That I could understand. However, many of the remainder appear to have what
looks like a piece of thread about an inch long protruding from the end.
I have recovered seeds from less than a half-dozen PrizeWinnerHybrids. None
had tails like this. This particular pumpkin had a very congested center.
No void space! But, it had a lot of seeds. This pumpkin was undersize since
the plant was
in a corner of the patch that lacked good nutrients.
Are these threadlike tails an anomaly? Otherwise the seeds look normal in
size and color.
