Grower hits it big
OK, nothing to do with pumpkins but since pumpkin growers are often braggers
then it should be no surprise I feel I must share news of my good fortune.
Long story short I have long thought my deceased parents may have had money
in California that has been unclaimed since their deaths. Last night my wife
found a web page called the State of California Unclaimed Property Bulletin
Board System. She ran various combinations of names and quickly got a hit
with my Dad's name and his last address.
BINGO! I yelled. My suspicions finally proven as correct. I was feeling
pretty good, and with the holidays upon us a few extra dollars would come in
handy. OK, now the moment of discovery, simply hit the "Claim" button and
the amount would be disclosed. I have to tell you I was suddenly starting to
get a bit nervous.
At any rate, I clicked the button and read, now excuse my bragging, but

The page said
"Type of Property: Other
Account Number:
Amount: $0.92"
Now tell me, what kind of organization has been keeping tabs on $0.92 since
he died in 1980.
It would cost me $0.33 to mail in a claim so I would net $0.59!
Oh yeah, quick, get me a envelope ah......never!
Maybe not as bad as no seeds in your pumpkin, but still a close emotional
roller coaster ride second.
