OUT WITH THE OLD AND MAYBE IN WITH THE NEW

HI FELLOW LIST MEMBERS
Yes, it's me again.
I think that most of you know that i am the chairman of the British National 
Pumpkin Society which ceased it's Membership mid last year due to the lack of 
interest from the Membership in helping me run and organise the Society.

The B.N.P.S exists only in name and the continuation of the Society P.O.Box 
Address, which has been paid for by me personally for the past 2 years. At 
several of this years competitions that i attended, as a spectator or as part 
of the lifting crew, i was asked by many members of the public where they 
could get information and see so that they could have a go at growing a Giant 
Pumpkin.

Why did they ask me you may be asking? They asked me or my good friend Alun 
Jones for information because we were wearing our T Shirts, that we purchased 
from you guys over there in the USA & CANADA, that depict GIANT PUMPKINS.  
Alun and i have had some lengthy conversations about re-kindling the B.N.P.S 
but under a different and more appropriate name.

We came up with the name UNITED KINGDOM GIANT PUMPKIN GROWERS which is a name 
more specific to our hobby/obsession that what the British National Pumpkin 
Society was. I have to pay for another 12 months agreement to keep our 
P.O.Box Address as it is on November 26th which is an expense that i could 
well do without right now.

Why? am i telling you all this you may be thinking. There are several reasons 
why the first one being i am asking for advice and/or support from you Guys & 
Gals who are reading this and may be interested in getting involved with 
helping Myself & Alun Jones get the PROSPECTIVE U.K.G.P.G off the ground. 
What sort of support are we looking for? 

Firstly, if you are reading this and you live in the United Kingdom and would 
like to help Me & Alun with our idea and become actively involved with 
running a new Giant Pumpkin Growers Group e mail me privately and let us know 
you are interested.

Secondly, As a good promotional lever we are looking for, no that should be 
begging for, a good supply of Seeds from Pumpkins with known genealogy and 
from Pumpkins that weighed 300 Lbs and over. I remember seeing in one of Joel 
Hollands' Videos a grower who had at least 100 Pumpkins all over 500 Lbs and 
several well over. Without going through ALL the Holland Videos again i would 
like to try and find out who the grower is that grows so many big Pumpkins in 
one patch.

Maybe, just maybe the grower i have described above is reading this, or you 
may know them, if so please e mail me privately with the details. If ANY List 
Members are able to donate quantities of Seeds from Pumpkins with known 
genealogy and from 300 Lb and above Pumpkins please also e mail me privately. 
The names of Seed donors will obviously be mentioned in any Newsletters that 
may be produced by the U.K.G.P.G (should it get off the ground) and on the 
Pumpkin Mailing Lists.

Our idea of setting up a new Growers Group for the UK is very much in it's 
infancy right now but given the support we need it may, and hopefully will, 
get underway ready for the 2000 Growing Season. If any List Member wishes to
