Glen,
Keep in mind that as you read this that we're not talking about the regular
"old style" MiracleGrow feeders that you can NOT use in line... The plastic
is way too light and they'd leak like a sieve... What we're talking about
here is what they call their "Four in One" feeder.

Either way is fine. I use mine about 3' from the faucet to ease mixing,
timing, etc.
