Well actually they are still growing, (yes I am serious!). Well 99% of the
leaves died on most of them, but I think because of powdery mildew in
combination with the Mosaic virus they have had all summer. Even with
insecticides, fungicides, floating row cover, botanical parasites for
Cucumber beetles, seaweed, etc., they still got the virus and mildew lately.
I have been keeping them above frost, but yet all of the leaves seemed to
have died. I am not giving up though. I am hoping I can find some leaf/vine
buds to get some new leaves growing to keep the plants a live long enough to
finish off the biggest pumpkin (only 150 pounds or so now), and get the other
ones so I can at least have some seeds. It seems like no matter how hard I
try, something always finds a way to mess it up. It doesn't make sense.
Oh well, anyway, I hope you and your family had (and are still having) a
Happy Thanksgiving!!!! Write back soon!
