Re: Pumpkin Balls/seeds germinating in pumpkin

Greetings:

Just opened a pumpkin tht I harvested last June. It has been sitting on my
stone fireplace hearth for several months.

A few thumps told me it's walls were thinning, so I was certain that the
seeds inside had germinated and were feeding off the fruit. I was right. When
I opened her up, the flesh was smooth and as easy to cut as a summer squash.

The most surprising find was that some of my leggy seedlings had green seed
leaves! Could the ambient light in my house have penetrated the sidewall and
caused photosynthesis in the seedlings? My pumpkin was otherwise sound! Not
even a soft spot!
