Question about pumpkin transport

One of my pumpkins which I will be taking to next weekends weigh off is wide, tall and narrow from stem to blossom end (looks like a big inner tube).  My question is should I transport it in the same position it grew or would it create potential problems if I rotate it so that it sits on the blossom end?
 
At first I though nothing of it but then I started wondering if placing the weight of the pumpkin on walls that are not use to it might cause it to split.
