RE: Preserving the giants


I don't know if you'll be able to keep it for that long but if I was trying
to do this I would clean the hole with a Q-tip saturated in a bleach
solution and then try to fill the cavity with an inert gas.  Perhaps Helium
in order to displace as much oxygen as possible.  You may still have it
contanminated with anaerobic bacteria, in which case you will have a
horrible smelly mess in short order, but it may work if you caught it
quickly and there was very little air exchange before you sealed it.  But I
would clean it, fill it with inert gas and seal it up.  Best of luck.
