My guess is that there a MANY 1000 + lb-ers
still out there.
I look at the early weigh off results from all over
the US and Canada and I see that it has been a good
year everywhere !
Off the top of my head I can think of 10 growers in
the Pacific Northwest that are capable of growing a
1000+ lb-er. The Puyallup fair was a great early
indicator. and there were a lot of monsters there, at
Sept 8th ! Then add in the rest of the Heavy hitters
that are out there- dozens, and there are always many
growers that pull things together and grow a big one
each year. And most of the big weigh off have yet to
come... most are this weekend and a few more even
later.
To me it all adds up to around 10-12 more 1000+ lb-ers
out there this year.
Just my guess.
