Winning pumpkin at Roland MB weighed in at 779 pounds. Tough year for this
area this summer, with lots of rain/cold. Can't remember growers name, but
fruit was nice shape. I took second with a 757, that weighed in 7 lbs over
chart. Upon pulling vines yesterday, I noticed my vine was severed 12' out.
Upon checking my log, I noticed I hadslightly pinched vine in early July,
and it must have rotted. So it appears that my fruit was fed by only 8' of
vine and roots.Bummer. Pumpkinpiper
