Start by making sure they are COMPLETELY dry before further storage. Some people just spread them out thinly on window screen that is kept off of the floor for better air flow and leave a fan on low blowing at them. It may take a few weeks, they are dry when all the paper like covering starts falling of all the seeds.
I used a food dehydrator set at the lowest setting {85}, the seeds were completely dry in less than 5 days. As far as long term storage - it would be great to get some other advise.

List,
Can anyone tell me how to prepare the seeds for the long dormant period.
I have a lot of new friends amazed at my 247# and my 200# AG's along with
my 231# squash (not much to most of you, but a whole world to us city folk) I
am so proud to have grown them and my friends would love to try there luck at
it as well.
Can anyone help me save the seeds from rotting !!!!
Thank you in advance!!!!!!!
