Personally I don't think you need to. I have temperature sensors buried in my
soil that that are read and recorded by my PC every 300 seconds and I can tell
you that my unwarmed municipal water supply does not cause any appreciable drop
in soil temperature. The thermal mass of the earth is just to great for a few
hundred gallons of water to affect much. Several other growers who have actually
grown huge pumpkins have attested that they have unwarmed water.
Still, I don't think that warming water to ambient air temperatures would hurt
any. I just don't think it is a requisite.
