MERIT
HI LIST,
I started looking for merit the ( systemic kind) late last season. From what
I discovered there are several different kinds of merit.Theres the merit you
put on your lawn to kill grubs and beetle larvie that is not systemic and
comes in large bulky bags you can find that at Walmart.Then theres the merit
you hook your hose to and spray up to 5000sq.ft. and that also kills grubs
and larvie and costs about $20.00 a container and is made by Bayer,but that
is not a systemic either and doesn't say systemic anywhere on the
container.Then there's the real merit that is a systemic and does kill vine
borers even when there in the vines.I talked to a friend thats a member of
our club in N.H (N.H.P.G.A) his family owns a large nursery and from what i
gather it's an over the counter product.no license needed,but it's real
expensive.And correct me if im wrong it comes in 4 or 5 ounce packages and
costs about 120.00$ and covers 1 acre thats 35,000 sq.ft 1 application lasts
about 6 to 8 weeks.So if i could find this illucive insectiside it would last
me about 15 years or so give or take a year.The question is has anyone else
on this list ever used this real deal product and if so does anyone know
where i could find it?
