Mike Turner here. I initially asked the question several weeks ago but only
got one answer and that was Topsfield Fair. Although Topsfield Fair has been
in existence for a very long time I still do not know how long there has been
an official and actual GIANT Pumpkin Weigh-Off at Topsfield. I guess i should
call and ask my Good Friend Hugh Wiberg about it.
Now, that was the ONLY reply i had to my request about where is the WORLDS
Oldest and Still Existing GIANT Pumpkin Weigh-Off. My Good Friend Alun Jones
has made repeated requests on the Mailing List for people to come forward and
let us know how long their local or distant GIANT Pumpkin Weigh-Off is. We
have no idea if the Weigh-Off that we know about here in the UK is or is not
the Oldest Weigh-Off in the World.
Until and unless we get more feedback from others that know how long their
Weigh-Off has been running we do not know where the oldest Weigh-Off actually
is. As Alun Jones has said we know of a GIANT Pumpkin Weigh-Off that has been
in existence for 34 Years here in the UK. What we want to know is does anyone
know of an older one that exists. OVER TO LIST MEMBERS..........
