RE: PGPGA Pennsylvania Pumpkin Bowl Vl Altoona, PA
Larry,
I reiterate my question... Would this truly lead to withdraw of sponsorship
for prize
>money?...I am not asking the weigh-off's to come up with more money, just
redistribute it a little.
I have no doubts that running a weigh-off is difficult to say the least, and
I am very appreciative to everyone who does so.
It's not like I have a world record squash on the vine, or will any time in
the near future, I just know it is the same process in growing either, and
one seed can throw either. It just seems to me that the prize money should
be inclusive. The squash money could then be used to pay out a couple more
positions.

...And Brian, the only way to stop discrimination is to simply stop. I'm
not looking for restitution or a reversal for discrimination that happened
in the past. We don't need to calculate any percentages of Orange vs.
green, just make them all equal. (Sorry for the social commentary in that
statement, but it is how I feel on the subject, pumpkins or people.)

It would be nice to have higher cash prizes for everything, however prize
money is not easy to come by and we are very lucky to have enough for the
1K first prize for pumpkin. We also have had a limited amount of squash
entered over the years.
Running a weigh-off is no easy chore, as those of you who have done so are
quite aware. It is difficult to please everyone, but we try our best.
