Nekoosa, WI Weighoff Top 5
HI guys...
in a windy, partly sunny (frick'n cold) day in the land of the frozen
tundra, many growers rolled in with nice pumpkins. There were some biggies!!
1. 908.5 Dave Creuziger 825 shymanski x 705 Stelts
2. 798.5 Joe Ailts 568 andrews self pollinated
3. 765 John Weidman 512? Keyzer?? x not specified
4. 706.5 K. Olsen 512? Keyzer?? x NOt specified
5. 700 Mark Shymanski 846 calai x 616 corkum???
Dave creuziger once again amazed us all at the weighoff again this year. He
captured back the WI State Record he held for a very short time last year
with his 826.5 and was surpassed by John barlow's 829 in anamosa, IA. The
record was smashed, and rightfully so by the 825 shymanski, a local pumpkin
that was the state record for 4 years untill it went down last year to john
barlow's 829. Congrats to dave!!! 908.5 is huge!! This 825 shymamski
pumpkin weighed in at around 50 lbs heavy! who knew???
Congrats to Joe ailts on his 2nd place finish, a first year grower who had
great success this year. John Weidam finally "got out of his slump" and
hulled in a 765 good for third. The 765 and 706 were grown from the same
seed, not sure exactly which one. The 706 was a nice bright red orange.
Top squash went to mark shymanski from the 616 corkum. I can't remember the
weight though, it was around 687 lbs.
Sorry for not the compete results...hopefully they will turn up by someone
who knows them.
