Why couldn't Topsfield change their date to the first Saturday in October
like all of the other GPC sites. I know it isn't just a pumpkin show, but
would it be very difficult to get the organizers to change the dates by one
week? Especially since the pumpkin competition really puts the fair on the
map. I tend to agree with Andrew in that they all should be weighed on the
same day. I think it was a real mistake in the firstplace to allow a GPC tag
to go along with Topsfield. I understand that it is very expensive and time
consuming to harvest transport these monsters. I also agree, since the GPC
had decided ahead of time that Topsfield should be a GPC site that their
weights should count. As far as the 1002, even if the GPC doesn't recognize
the actual weight, I don't know any grower that wouldn't.
