great weigh -offs

I think that the first thing we have to keep in perspective is that the
quirks that happen at a weigh-off are not deliberate.

That they are alot like green mottle ..............they happen without
control .....unpredicted obviously who wants to create hassles.

To expect a weigh-off to cover all angles of everyones concerns is a hard
thing to do!!

.....like being perfect ..impeccable...no flaws .......we want that
but.........there are too many of us

....who is capable to provide that flawless perfection.......
.............it takes time as a group..................and sometimes as a
group TAKES too much time as everyone has their personal angle to hash
through before a solution or compromise is made.

So we need to have patience...............and keep things in a constructive
mode.

Personally I think that the GpC monies are usually a separate ADD
-ON........ from local weigh-offs and sponsors. I run a small weigh
-off and we accept all fruit . Why because its simple and grower
friendly..........because we want to promote
growers..........................I can not turn away a first year grower
with green mottle.............as they are so proud of their fruit...just
can't do it.

Perhaps the the local weigh -offs can be open regardless of color....and if
one wants to add on the gpc monies ( the gpc monies can be more
restrictive.........like no green......

.....but there is a huge conflict in interest ....it ain't a beauty contest
---- but kinda is............but then if your real heavy....I see no color
and see the beauty of the scale.......there in lies the
confict...............we need a clearer distinction one that is not
subjective to the various weigh-offs philosophy on the green mottle
issue......................to me it seems simple go hardcore no green or
the scale rules...............just a few thoughts.....MB
