Hi Guys,
Foggy 23, my best this year, went to presentations at grange meeting,
cub scout meeting, convalescent hospital, church, and festival. Finally
it went to the senior home, where it was the subject of a
guess-the-weight contest. When I picked it on October 7, I had no way to
weigh it, so it went unweighed for 2 weeks, then managed to weigh 70.0
pounds. I weighed it again just before the contest, and it had lost
2-1/2 pounds, bringing it down to 67.5.
A Marie Callendar pumpkin pie was given to the senior who guessed the
closest weight.
But the best part for me were the many seniors who disregarded the clue
that it was somewhere between 40 and 100 pounds. David and I awarded a
Halloween jar full of miniature candy bars to OUR favorite guess - 649
pounds. I feel like a contender ... at last!
