Subject: New Weigh-off in Ontario
Mark your calender growers in Ontario and else
where...open to the world......third weekend of September starting
2003......I have obtained permission to hold a new Pumpkin Weigh-off in our
town....there will be a large cash prize yet to be
finalized.....pumpkins....squash....tall corn ...tall sunflower...largest
tomato.....etc....we spend 6 months growing our prize pumpkins and other
vegetables only to have very few weigh-offs....the west coast of the USA
have many weigh-offs stretching out the weigh-off season....here in Ontario
other than small fairs there are few....other than Ottawa...... Port
Elgin...Wellington....Quebec ( only for residents I believe )....St.
Catherines....Simcoe....and the Royal Winter Fair...our season for competing
is short.....so plan now for an earlier weigh-off and lets have more fun for
a longer period next year.....hope to see many October 19 in the town
Wellington for the Prince Edawrd County PUMPKINFEST....thanks Jim
Ives..Bill Greer and Arnold Vader for a day my myself and family love to
come to......if you have a pumpkin bring one folks its a great time
