Re: receiving e-mails sequentially out of order

Rebecca,

I hope you don't mind if I CC: the list on this...

Thanks. But maybe I should have explained this in a
little more detail... sometimes I get a replied
message 10, 20, 30 hours before I get the original
message. They're WAY out of order. And, some of my
messages never make it to the list, or at least I
never see them. It makes me wonder what I'm seeing
and what I'm missing. I can tell that some parts of
conversations are missing... I see people responding
to messages that I never got.

I might need to activate the digest mode for a while
to try to sort this out. Yes, that's an idea! I want
to try to figure this out without sending the list in
an uproar...

Also, if any list members are using Hotmail AND are
also seeing these problems, please email me privately.

Regards, Cliff

Hi there!

I find myself responding to someone's post just to turn around and see the same subject printed below from someone else. My suggestion is to scan down the list of incoming mail to see which was submitted first (there is a date and time listed after each entry) they may not be listed in chronological order, but the time of each post is there. That way I know who submitted what first. And of course a post preceded w/ Re: is a response to an earlier subject. Does any of this make sense? Just takes a little patience, I know I used to jump the gun to respond to some of the posts, only to be embarrassed that someone else had already answered the question. But comments and experience and just plain antidotes are always welcome in my book. Thanks for all of your input.
