I thought the 816 grown in auk by a guy called john hanbury was the biggest in Europe - you just raised the target! I believe it was grown in either 1998 or 1999, other than this I do not know much else.  I have a picture in the "how big" section of my web page.  Thanks for the info on the Belgian pumpkin!  The one thing I notice different between myself and all other growers I have come across is that I grow mine outside without any protection apart from in the early season.  I notice from the web that most growers in Uk/Europe are using poly tunnels and greenhouse.  I am seriously considering erecting some sort of structure where I can roll over protection if it's needed.
