PNWGPG GROWER WINS I.P.A. CHAMPIONSHIP AND TRIP TO
JAPAN.
Craig Sandvik, the winner of the 1ST annual Giant
Pumpkin Contest at Central Market in Shoreline,
Washington has been crowned the I.P.A. Champion for
2002. Craig’s 1,058-pound pumpkin was the largest
specimen weighed among the five I.P.A sites in Japan,
England, and the U.S.A. The I.P.A. champion has
traditionally received a trip to Shodoshima, Japan the
following year to be a guest of honor at The Japanese
National Pumpkin Championships.
