Re: My Wumpkin?
Hi Kathy, Toby and everybody...... I think I have some Wumpkins also! Boy
was I ever dissappointed when Dennis came out to look at my patch and said
he didn't know how they'd classify them. My motto was always "Orange
Pumkins Rule", (got that from someone in Oregon I think) but I've kinda
become fond of my greenish ones now! I have 4 on one plant. 2 are around
200 lbs, and 1 is 150 and the other about 75. I know I should have gotten
rid of all but one but just couldn't do it. Got them all started late this
year after the Nascar races in S.Cal so didn't think they'd get very big.
Dennis said I waited too long to prune and bury the vines also, so live and
learn... Well anyway, maybe I'll bring one of these green things to share
and compare at Elk Grove! It kinda crept up on me, didn't know it was
already this weekend. See you there, Gloria :)
