RE: Carpet on the pallets.
Matt,
The carpet was for transportation purposes. Speaking from the
standpoint of some who helped transfer pumpkins for weighing at Canby
yesterday, carpet sucks! Very hard to slide a pumpkin onto or off of
carpet. If something smooth such as an anchored tarp or other "slick"
material is over it makes the job of those getting these things to the
scale much easier!
Good Job all!
God Bless,

Subject: Carpet on the pallets.
I went to the weigh-off in Anamosa and noticed carpet on many of the
pallets. I grew my pumpkins on pallets this year, and was wondering if
people just use carpet on pallets for transportation, or if they grow
pumpkins on carpet covered pallets. I would be concerned with mold on
the carpet, but see the benefit to a smoother underbelly of the pumpkin.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
