Please don't interpret the following as an attempt to stir up trouble or
instigate a heated debate. It is presented matter-of-factly to avoid confusion
later.

In the '2003 AGGC Entry Form and Guidelines' page on the AGGC site I stated I
would honor the GPC's decisions regarding pumpkin/squash classification even
though I did not always agree with them. After viewing some of this year's
results however, It think it would be an injustice to growers to do so in all
cases. In situations where photos and public opinion are overwhelmingly in
favor of an overturn of decision, I will do just that. I have seen several
'squash' already that are anything but. I am not sure why they were classified
as such and do not care to speculate. Please don't accuse me of playing god or
trying to undermine organized pumpkin competition as we know it. That's just
silly. The bottom line is that I wish to portray each fruit's genetics as
accurately and objectively on the AGGC site as possible with no bias towards
prize status and/or organizational affiliation and will take the necessary
steps to do just that. Note however, that this overturn affects only how the
fruit is portrayed on the AGGC site. It has absolutely no effect in any other
arena.
