It was a beautiful warm fall day in sunny Salinas California.
Most of the pumpkin growing elite of the entire state of
California was at Borchard Farms. Baby Beluga swam in for the
event. A few other pumpkins were there also... Thousands of
them!!! (Well, it is a pumpkin farm)
The pumpkins outnumbered the people there by 10 to one - so
it's probably a good thing that they were all in a good
mood....
Here are the top fruit from the weigh-off:
Pumpkins:
1. Vince Zunino 933 lbs.
2. Gary Miller 872
3. Lila Vezzolo 812
4. Jim Crisp 803
5. Mike Brock 706
Squash:
1. Kevin Smith 502 lbs.
2. Gary Miller 478
3. Jeff Johnson 308
Gary Miller also won the prize for the prettiest pumpkin.

A wonderful, relaxed family event. The haunted barn was
