Pie postscript
By the way, the recipe for that potential record pie is in the story.
Here it is, since I'm hoping Vince can tell us how to convert the weight
of our own pumpkins to number of 6-foot-three pies that can be made
therefrom.
World's largest pumpkin pie filling
Makes 500 servings
196 cups of cooked pumpkin
224 eggs
140 cups milk
84 cups sugar
56 tsp. salt
112 tsp. cinnamon
28 tsp. clove, nutmeg or ginger
Mix together in a very large mixer with a whisk attachment. Let set for
several hours in refrigerator and pour into pie shell. Bake for 5 hours
at 300 degrees in a very large oven.
