Subject: Avian Bird flu

This post is not about pumpkins, it is about a potentially very serious
health hazard. Recently the CDC has found that the epidemic of 1918 was bird
flu, it attacks the strongest among us because it turns the immune system
from protecting us to attacking us. I have had an interest in this subject
for years because my grandfather at age 26 plowed a field on Wednesday and
was dead on Friday.

I know we have several Doctors on this list and any inforation they can
provide would be appreciated.

In 1918, it is estimated that the flu killed 50 million people worldwide. At
todays population, it could exceed 200 million people.

I do not wish to cause an alarm, just be aware:

Bob,

What was his DOD? Grew up on a 12K chicken farm and have been to the Far
East. Got a little perspective from that! My daughter will become a
veterinarian by next spring at Cornell. They have one guy on this steady I
think.
