Re: Vine sprouting

 Diane,
Well, apparently this is well known and done with pumpkin vines.
I have at least one leaf node cut from a frost killed vine that is
sprouting.
I am just using vitamin B1 rooting solution. ...and from our friendly
neighborhood
Wal-Mart. I don't want it to grow fast...just keep going until spring.
I just
want to keep it alive and viable until I can get it in the ground and
then
kick it off with the usual fertilizer and all that.

I'm not sure if it would work the same for pumpkins
but I have taken tomato vine cuttings dipped them in
rooting hormone then grew them inside for winter
tomatoes. If you're willing to take the chance you
can get rooting hormone at Wal-mart or Home depot and
  give it a go.

Nothing new, been being done for years, they call it
    cloning, although I
dont think it really is a clone. If I remember
    correctly, there have been some
monsters grown from them. Peace Wayne
