I think that Wayne is politely trying to say that when you send an item to the list, it goes to everybody on the list. It's probably better just to send an email directly to the person that you want to reach.

Otherwise, it ends up being a little bit like a shotgun. You may hit what you're aiming for. But, you can end up hitting everything around what your aiming for as well. A rifle's more accurate. (My apologies to those who actually know something about guns if my analogy was of target. I've only ever shot blanks in a Theatre class)

It's nice to see everybody's names and addresses and to get to know them a bit better through their messages. But, you should also consider that all of these emails are archived on the web where anybody (including nasty folks) can read them. You may not want your personal information floating around like that.
