Darren,
In my "GPC tainted opinion" (LOL) all pumpkins that are weighed on a
certified scale with witnesses are "official" provided the parentage (or
lack thereof) is fully disclosed.
Pumpkins that are only taped get dubbed "est" for estimated.
Pumpkins weighed on uncertified scales or in pieces are branded "uow".
Fruit that are unsound are disqualified & tagged "dmg".
Multiple entries usually get labeled exhibition or "exh"
Ironically "official" entries have no special suffix.
We have a local ag-fair that uses an antique tractor scale (not certified)
to weigh pumpkins that are still on a pallet! This is clearly an
"unofficial" weight. We brought entries there several times & they were way
over estimate. A couple weeks later we bring them to our own club's GPC
weigh-off & enter them as "exhibition entries". These weights are official
even though the fruit have always lost quite a few pounds.
Congrats on the personal best!

Hey all,
I had a new PB this year with 500lbs. Very fun. We had a local big pumpkin
contest this year but it's not an Atlantic Giant weigh-off. This is only my
2nd year and it's the first time I had one weighed. My question is, is this
weight considered official, and what do you all do with your pumpkins at
the end of the year?
Thanks,
Darren
