RE: need seeds

Be careful with your expectations of grand growth with the HomeDepot
Dill Ags. Last year I planted the same seed and produced medium sized
fruit. This year I tried the Dill Ags from my local garden/seed store
and it produced only a 115 pounder. Meanwhile, for only the price of
postage, I received seed from Bill Foss (www.billsbigpumpkins.com) and
grew a 436 pound beauty with little effort.

Seeds seem to be good for a few years if stored properly (cool & dark)
so give it a shot with the ones you have.

If any one is interested in seeds from my 436, send me an email at
thatsrhomer@yahoo.com and I can reply with an address for you to send a
SASBE.

BTW, I am also on the prowl for seeds from growers for next years
harvest. I have room for about 10 giant plants this season, so I am
looking for variety!

Good luck Typhoid & Jim

Scott

Hey Typhoid Mary...

Atleast you have tried! I have thought about it for 2 years now and
have yet to actually start a seed! I bought the Dill Atlantic Giant
seeds at Home Depot 2 times now and have yet to actually try... I get
nervous about failure.

I have decided, however, that 2009 is going to be my year to bite the
bullet and take a chance. So, I am also on the look out for some good
seeds...
dunno if my ones from the past would still be good. I have a greenhouse
(6x8 hobby) that I can use to start seeds in... have plenty of pots...
plenty of water... plenty of organic fertilizers... access to plenty of
good, aged manure (sheep)... plenty of compost... plenty of pots (some
very large)... and finally... plenty of courage!!!

I wish you luck for 2009... Grow a big one... a gigantic one!!!

Peace,
Jim
