The first GPC sanctioned weigh-off in Sioux Falls, South Dakota was
organized this year by Bill Hartman.  It was a great family time with 15
giant pumpkin entries, a decorated/carved pumpkin contest, baking
contest and costume contest.  

The top three weigh-off results:

1. 422 lbs.	Greg Kurkowski		Watertown, South Dakota	***New State
Record***

2. 356 lbs.	Chris Wilbers		Sioux Falls, South Dakota

3. 334 lbs.	John Hartman		Underwood, Minnesota


Most of the pumpkins were auctioned off for a local charity.

My 2nd place pumpkin had been estimated at 367 lbs. with an OTT total of
260.  My other two pumpkins were 227 lbs. (est. 227, OTT total 218.5)
and 220 lbs. (est. 232, OTT total 220.25).

My congratulations to EVERY grower who entered their pumpkin in a
weigh-off!
