How much bovine dung?

Greetings from Oregon,....Again,
Here is a question for us all, just how much cow poop is just right?  After a
field trip, or rather patch trip to the gardens of Shellie Cramer (hi
Shellie), Clyde Wilson and some LaRue patch I noticed their soil to consist
of 10% dirt and 90% Poop.  On a pumpkin site 40 X 40 feet, just how much
should I put on?  Last year I put on about 88 cubic yards all together on my
entire patch, some 40 X 160, but it didn't even come close to the texture of
those other patches. Let me know your take on this shatty dilemma.
